Thanksgiving

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I thought I would list what I am truly grateful for....First and foremost my family, I have a great husband who works his butt off to provide us with everything we could possibly need and somehow can still love me even when I don't deserve it. My amazing, smart, cute, talented, funny, crazy kids that keep my life interesting. I am grateful for sisters, who despite it all have become incredible people who are great examples to me. I am thankful that we now live closer to our family members so that we can make those bonds even stronger. For my seriously awesome friends, one girl shouldn't be this lucky to have all the great friendships that I have. I am thankful for the gospel and the guidance it has provided me, for someone who didn't receive a lot growing up. I am especially thankful for my Heavenly Father. I am grateful for all the blessing we have received and all of the trials that I have had, because without them I wouldn't be the person I am. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Nobody's Perfect

This Hannah Montana song has been going through my head lately.....maybe because I feel like I am lacking in most of the areas of my life lately. I haven't cooked dinner in well over a week and I have not gone grocery shopping either. What have my kids been eating? Usually cereal or whatever I can quickly grab from a drive thru. The other day Ethan asked for some vegetables, don't even know if he knows what those are, but his body is probably in need of some. My house constantly looks like a tornado hit it. I swear I pick it up but it never seems cleaned up. I have laundry everywhere...this is something else I feel like I am working on but never seems done. I haven't walked the dogs in at least two weeks, any day the animal police is going to come and arrest me for poor treatment of pomeranians. I haven't seen my husband in two weeks....okay I have seen him with my eyes but actual quality time has been rare. This however is not my fault but due to a crazy work/travel schedule and opening a hearing clinic in his spare time. I am getting fatter by the minute...the halloween candy is already making its debut on my gut. I have been exercising (kind of) but it turns out if you eat 3,000 calories a day the exercise doesn't really help. I rarely get ready anymore...my husband is always telling me how nice I look when I actually get out of my sweats, but its only because he is not used to seeing me with my hair done or he is trying to give me positive reinforcement to do it more often. Tough for him because he is never home anyways, and sweats are more comfy than my jeans that are either too tight or so stretched out they fall off by the end of the day. Last but certainly not least we didn't get to any of the fun fall activities with our kids because we were too busy...no pumpkin patch, no pumpkin walk (even though I have been talking about it for 8 years), no corn maze, no pumpkin carving, nothing. So you see Nobody's Perfect....

PRICELESS!!

One round trip ticket from Seattle: 25,000 air miles
Two Hannah Montana tickets: $125
Balloons: $10
The look on Lauren's face
when we surprised her at school with her best friend Abby: PRICELESS!

Sorry for my annoying laugh in the background- I was half laughing and crying!

Not Many More Hannah Montana Days Left!

Lauren turned 13 this weekend. I know crazy, huh? It is weird to even think that I could have a child that is a teenager. As a surprise, we flew her best friend up from Seattle and we all went to the Hannah Montana concert. While I was there I got to thinking that I have very few moments left with Lauren as a child. Pretty soon, she will rather die than go to a concert with me, and soon enough she will be way over Hannah Montana. It is a sad realization, as we all know, we all go through the phase where our parents are so uncool, no matter how young or hip I think I am. Enjoy your little ones now because sooner than you think, they will be gone. I am going to try to hold onto the few ones I have left.

Yeah!! I have some pics to show!

Here are a few pics from our crazy party weekend! It was soo fun to catch up with everyone. Trent won the costume contest hands down as Nacho Libre ( he is the only person that I know that can pull that off) Sarah was pretty cute as a pregnant nun. Shelly and Scott get Honorable Mention for their Dog the Bounty Hunter and wife costumes! I am definitely a fall/Halloween fanatic, so I will post some fun pics of kids costumes later.

In Memory of Ben Roberts Call

This week we went to Zak's grandpa's funeral. He was pretty sick with cancer and many other old age ailments. He was 91 years old. He lived a great life and was married to his wife for 68 years. The whole family was there except for one great grand-daughter and few of the great-great grandkids. Can you imagine actually living long enough to meet your great-great grandkids? Everyone who was there felt extremely close to him which is a miracle considering they have 13 grandkids, 22 great grandkids, and 5 great great grandkids. He always cared more about others than he did about himself. We got to see him a couple of days before he died in the hospital and the first question he asked us as he is laying in his bed, is how do we like our new house? The main thing that was said about him at the funeral was that he loved his wife and he loved his family, there was never any question. I think anyone has lived a pretty good life if that is what is said about them. We love you Grandpa and we will miss you!!
