This week we went to Zak's grandpa's funeral. He was pretty sick with cancer and many other old age ailments. He was 91 years old. He lived a great life and was married to his wife for 68 years. The whole family was there except for one great grand-daughter and few of the great-great grandkids. Can you imagine actually living long enough to meet your great-great grandkids? Everyone who was there felt extremely close to him which is a miracle considering they have 13 grandkids, 22 great grandkids, and 5 great great grandkids. He always cared more about others than he did about himself. We got to see him a couple of days before he died in the hospital and the first question he asked us as he is laying in his bed, is how do we like our new house? The main thing that was said about him at the funeral was that he loved his wife and he loved his family, there was never any question. I think anyone has lived a pretty good life if that is what is said about them. We love you Grandpa and we will miss you!!

love and miss you LOADS! i'm ready to run away again...can i come see you??
haha.
I'm sorry for your loss. I saw a card recently that said, "No matter WHEN it happens...it is always too soon." Isn't that true.
Sounds like he was a great person that lived a wonderful life. I hope when it's time people will say the same about me.
Talk about living a full life! Can you imagine living that long? What a lucky guy, and a lucky family that got to have him in it! Life is amazing to me when you think of all the people that COULD have come out of that gene pool, and you got a good one! Makes it even more precious! The greatest honor you could have given him is to pass along the good genes, which you're doing nicely!
p.s. why is he wearing a cap and gown?
That pic was taken on his last day of cancer treatment, which was about six days before he died. I thought it was kind of fitting since in a way he has graduated and moved on.
Sorry to hear about this guys. Zak - I know what you'll look like when you get old. btw- this guy had a pretty cool name.
Sending all our best. Looks like he was very much loved.
